DVD |
DVDs offer more than just features...they offer a non-linear platform for everything from movies to non-fiction to training to travel. This non-linear platform is much more like a book than a movie. As DVDs reach critical mass (2003 was the turning point), the production of non-traditional titles will explode. |

Broadband |
Broadband offers more than just “Movies on Demand.” It offers advertisers, facing a fragmented market and services like Tivo, a way to avoid advertising all together. No longer will individuals need a broadcast license or cable operator...just a server. As advertisers continue to face increasing obstacles to reaching their customers, they will become content creators to attract them. |

Digital Film |
Digital Film, or HD, will be the dominant distribution format within the next 10-15 years (probably much sooner). This dramatically lowers the cost of getting films to the theaters. It also changes how theaters can provide the films. This in-turn provides independent filmmakers with full access to a mass market. The result will shake the movie industry to its core as the tried-and-true calculations of profit and loss become obsolete. |
